Tiled Roofs
Porus, Rough Tiles
Tiles with a porus, textured surface require a high solids primer that acts as a filler coat to help smooth the surface
Stable, Coated Tiles
Stable or coated tiles that do not have a powdery surface after cleaning should use a primer to help maximise adhesion and top-coat durability
Powdery, Oxidized Tiles
A powdery, oxidized surface requires a primer with high penetration and good flexibility. Look for a fine particle size and good adhesion rates
Metal Roofs
Metal Sheets
Roofs sheeted with metal should be primed to prevent rusting. Use a primer that promoted adhesion and has anti-corrosion properies

Asphalt surfaces require strong binders to create an adhesive, water-tight base for top-coating
