Texas Shopping Centre Restoration
Façade Facelift
This El Paso shopping mall had a much-needed facelift by a professional contractor. The tiled roofs of the entranceways were faded, weathered and damaged and needed much care to prevent leaks and damage to the rest of the building. As work could only take place afterhours when the businesses were closed, this project took the applicator two weeks.
Initially, all the roofs were inspected and damaged tiles replaced. Each roof was then pressure cleaned before any work could commence. A special color match in bright blue was created by Nutech Paint before three coats of NXT Cool Coat were applied. No primer was used on this job.

Recoating for Promotional Materials
Situated on a picturesque canal development, this Brisbane home was coated by Nutech Paint representatives as part of a promotional campaign. Taking two weeks, the entire processed was filmed to show how easy it is to apply a DIY roof coating by Nutech Paint.
Prior to coating, all tiles were checked for cracks and leaks, and the flashing was checked and sealed. Taking care to avoid runoff into the waterways, the roof was pressure washed to remove any surface dirt and buildup.
As the tiles showed some signs of aging and wear, the roof was primed using Nutech Paint’s NuPrime, which is designed for powdery and oxidized surfaces. This highly penetrating sealer provided a sound base for the top coat.
Using a special color blend to match the existing violet tiles, two coats of Tileflex were applied to the entire roof, as well as several spare tiles that had also been cleaned and primed.
Finally, the roof was repointed with Nutech Paint’s MaxiPoint (available at request) in black to create a contrast to the violet tile finish.

Aesthetic Restoration
This home owner was looking to create a very specific feel with the makeover of the exterior of their home, and agreed to let Nutech Paint use the project for training purposes with a new applicator. The project took a week, and the owner was very satisfied with the result.
Before the application commenced, the roof was power washed to remove any debris and dirt. It was then carefully primed with GP Primer, a high build primer designed for rough tiles. This filler coat helped to provide a smoother, even base for the top coat, and created the Nutech Paint perfect finish.
Once the primer had cured, two coats of Tileflex in Mountain Blue were applied. The dark blue color provided great contrast against the light walls, and really lifted the overall feel of the home.

Training Project
This Alabama home in Tuscaloosa had only been re-roofed 6 months prior, but already the metal sheeting had begun to lose color and have an undesirable appearance. In a bid to save money, the homeowner decided to coat the roof using Nutech Paint’s products, creating an “as new” finish without the hassle and cost of re-roofing again. This project was also used by Nutech Paint representatives as a demonstration and training project.
As the sheets were new, there was little damage to the roof. The entire surface was pressure washed before priming with Nutech Paint’s Metal Primer. Two top coats of Tileflex in a custom color were applied to create the perfect finish. The duration of this restoration was two days, allowing plenty of time for the new applicators to learn about proper techniques.

Complete Restoration
Working closely with Nutech Paint’s technical advisors, and within limitations of the University and surrounding areas, this large scale, professional application was completed in 3 weeks.
The metal tiles were pressure washed and checked for damage before all the screws were spot treated for rust. The entire surface was then primed with Nutech Paint’s Metal Primer to prevent further corrosion and provide an even base for the top coat. Two coats of NXT Cool Coat in Sienna high-gloss were applied for the heat reflecting properties.
With work only being undertaken on weekends when classes were not running, the project duration was just shy of one month. There were also geological restrictions regarding the lake on the university campus. Special care was taken to sure that all water runoff was free from contamination that might harm the ecosystem. Nutech Paint advised on each step of the process, and even did a final site check to ensure the best application as well as environmental safety.

Solar Energy Upgrade
This project was undertaken in conjunction with a solar power company specializing in cylindrical panels of copper indium gallium selenide. These solar panels can collect the infrared rays both directly from the sun as well as reflected from the roof. For this reason, Nutech Paint’s NXT coatings were considered for the upgrade.
The roof was pressure cleaned and checked for damage before being painted with two coats of NXT Cool Coat in white high-gloss for maximum reflectivity. NXT in white has a TSR of 92%, and helped to nearly double the power output of the solar panels.

Factory Repairs
The uncoated guttering on this Scottish factory had rusted and corroded and would cost a great deal to replace. Rather than spend the time and effort rebuilding the drainage of the building, the owner hired a professional applicator to coat the damaged drain and guttering with Nutech Paint’s roof coating system. This finish was achieved in 3 days with support and advice from the Nutech Paint technical team.
The rusted guttering was power washed and scrubbed with a wire brush to remove any loose dirt and debris. The rust was treated with a rust-removing compound prior to priming with Nutech Paint’s Metal Primer to prevent further and future rusting as well as providing a stable base for top coating.
Two top coats of NXT Silicone in white were applied to create the perfect finish. This returned the gutters to their original waterproof state and saved the owner from replacing them.

Curbside Appearance Upgrade
This Cincinnati auto-repairs shop was looking worn out and the owner was concerned about the appearance of the workshop to potential customers. Rather than re-roofing, he chose to coat his roof. The DIY job was undertaken over one weekend and a Nutech Paint representative worked closely with the owner to achieve the perfect finish.
The roof was pressure washed to remove all dirt and debris before being coated with Nutech Paint’s Metal Primer.

This ensured that the coating was applied according to Nutech Paint’s standards and would meet the guidelines for the company guarantee.
The final finish greatly improved the street presence of the shop, and the owner was pleased with the overall finish.

The surface was then primed with Nutech Paint’s Metal Primer to prevent further rusting a create a stable base for top coating.
The owners chose NXT Cool Coat in a custom matched color for its cooling properties and longevity. Two coats were applied to achieve the perfect finish.
The project took approximately 3 weeks to complete due to the size, rust and opening hours of the businesses within the mall. Several site inspections were carried out by Nutech Paint during this time to create custom specifications for the project to ensure the coating guarantee.

Climate control though roof coating
This factory in Queensland Australia had been struggling to keep the factory cool and create a pleasant working environment for the employees. Rather than spend thousands on a cooling system that would struggle with the openness of the shed, Tip Top invested in a Nutech Paint coating with heat reflective properties.
Initially, the roof was power washed to remove the dirt and debris that had built up, and rusted spots were treated with NuEcoSafe Rust (available on request). Finally, the entire roof was primed with Nutech Paint’s Metal Primer to create a stable base for top coating.
After preparation, the roof was coating with two coats of NXT Cool Coat in color Wheat high-gloss. The light color and high-gloss combination provides a high TSR and helped to significantly cool the factory. A local contractor completed this job, with specifications and inspections carried out by Nutech Paint.
Letter from the Manager
I would like to take this opportunity in thanking Nutech and the trade contractor for the work that was done restoring the roof of one of our production facilities in2010. Nutech was very helpful and professional in assisting us with the coating aspect of restoring the rood. In the 2 years since the restoration, we have not noticed any significant deterioration in the coating and believe that it will continue to maintain its integrity over the coming years. We have no hesitation is recommending Nutech coatings to other businesses both in Australia and overseas.
Thanks again,
Sasha Pakkiyaretnam
